This listing is for a new 70-1/2 inch blade 1/2 inch width with 18 teeth per inch, 0.025 inch thick. It fits bandsaws that use 70-1/4 or 70-1/2 inch blades. This is a new high quality Bi-Metal (BM) bandsaw blade with a high speed molybdenum matrix cutting edge, electron beam welded to a low alloy, shock resistant back. It will cut harder metals including alloy steel. It is also a good choice for exotic hard wood. Bi-Metal blades provide faster cutting rates and increased life (up to 10 times longer life than FB blades). Excellent toughness, shock and abrasion resistance. CAUTION - Blade speed must be between 50 and 300 lineal feet per minute to cut mild steel or harder metals. The blade will not last on hard metals at high blade speed. Now you can do scroll saw cutting on a standard band saw by using these special guide blocks and the 1/16" scroll cutting saw blade. As shown in the diagram below, the blade is held between the guide blocks, instead of trying to grip the back edge of the blade as with standard metal guide blocks. Designed to replace the metal guide blocks commonly used on band saws, these blocks are self-lubricating and can be run with zero clearance on the blade. These guide blocks are completely non-abrasive so that they will not dull the bandsaw blade or disturb the set even when they are in direct contact with the teeth. SuperCut? Bladesaver Guide Blocks are also very beneficial for use on wider blades because they can be run with zero clearance against the blade without having to leave a gap between the block and the blade as with conventional steel blocks. This provides better support for the blade, allowing for a much straighter cut.
