And that designer is Nolan Miller. This pin/brooch is from the first Floral Fantasy Series ( Floral Fantasy Series I ) that was formerly carried on QVC. It was a collector edition of four luscious pins. This piece is entitled " The Violet Boutonniere ", aptly named, and was pin #2 in the series issue. The brooches from this edition were premium priced, and more densely set with stones and detail than those from the standard "Glamour Collection" line. This pin, for its size, has a lovely weight to it. Not heavy, per se, it's just that you can feel that it is loaded with stones when you hold it. Set in a base metal the color of 14k yellow gold electroplate, the violet petals are open backed, faceted, simulated amethyst pear shaped crystals, all prong set in white metal just as fine jewelry would be. The flower portion of the pin measures 1-5/ 8" long, and the stems add another 1/2", so the total length measures a little over 2", and it is 1-5/ 8" at its widest.
