The WJ-GXE500 Network Video Encoder is part of the Panasonic i-PRO SmartHD lineup. It is a Power over Ethernet (PoE) IEEE802.3af, 4-channel encoder that uses less than half the power consumption of equivalent models. The WJ-GXE500 also uses the Panasonic proprietary UniPhier(tm) System LSI that is compliant with the H.264 High Profile standard format and makes it possible to stream video over the network at a lower data size.

The Panasonic WV-PB4164 control board installs inside a WJ-RT416 series 16-channel DVR, allowing dome cameras 5-8 to be PTZ controlled via the video coax cable using a Panasonic WV-CU650 system controller. Cameras 1-4 can be coaxially PTZ controlled directly without this board. Cameras 9-16 can be PTZ controlled only through an RS-485 connection.
