LENS HOOD You should generally always use a lens hood on your camera. It helps prevent the lens flare you can see. We all know that starburst effect you get when the sun is in the picture, that s called lens flare. It s usually (but not always) a bad thing. It helps prevent the lens flare you cannot see. There s a more prevalent type of lens flare you often don t notice with your naked eye. It causes pictures to loose contrast due to light refraction. It protects the lens from damage and from the elements. WITHOUT THE LENS HOOD WITH THE LENS HOOD MICROFIBER CLEANING CLOTH As the name suggests, microfiber cleaning cloths are made up of extremely fine fibers, usually of synthetic fibers like nylon or polyester. Despite weighing as light as feathers, they are very durable and strong and have a tremendous water holding capacity. Microfiber cleaning cloth leaves behind no lint, no dust, or no broken fibers. Once you clean a surface with it, it remains clean.
