Continuing in their great tradition of classic TV westerns, NBC Universal and Timeless Media Group now bring you the complete, uncut Wagon Train - The Complete Third Season, one of the most enduring and sought after westerns of all time. Direct from the vaults at Universal, these 37 episodes have been re-mastered and presented on 10 dual layer DVDs in a special edition tin box, with a handsome DVD booklet complete with all the episode synopses, the guest stars and more. Ward Bond, who starred in Wagonmaster, recreated his role from the film as Major Seth Adams. He was joined by costars Robert Horton as head Scout Flint McCullough, Frank McGrath as the cook Charlie Wooster, and Terry Wilson as Assistant Wagonmaster Bill Hawks, who all brought their skills as horsemen as well as wonderful actors to the show, giving Wagon Train a special, western flavor. Five years elapsed between Universal's DVD release of DRAGNET 1967: SEASON 1. Now in the hands of Shout Factory, the presentation of the series has become a lot more ambitious -- in addition to the complete 28 episodes of the 1967-68 season (officially credited as "Dragnet 1968"), the makers have included the pilot film DRAGNET 1966. The latter still makes for strong viewing more than 40 years after it was first aired, and its presence should provide a powerful incentive for buying the set -- the 97 minute pilot film, shot in 1966, was strong enough to convince NBC to revive the series, but it was considered too strong to show on television at the time, and wasn't even seen until three years later. The film-to-video transfers on the set are excellent, in full-screen (1.33-to-1), with bright, solid colors and a very strong audio track. As originally aired on NBC on Saturday nights between January 1972 and September 1977 the popular drama series EMERGENCY! bore a marked resemblance to the original DRAGNET with its semi-documentary approach to stories and little wonder: Jack Webb created the program through his Mark VII production shingle merely two years after DRAGNET wrapped. Episodes took place in the City of Angels and followed the adventures of two collaborating teams of rescue workers: Squad 51 of the Los Angeles County Fire Department's Paramedical Rescue Service and the ER staff of L.A.'s Rampart Hospital. Leading the fire department EMS squad were two heroic paramedics Roy DeSoto Kevin Tighe and John Gage Randolph Mantooth; episodes interwove suspenseful tragic and occasionally comic storylines involving the workers' attempts to save citizens with a heightened emphasis on helping to free the endangered from precarious positions. This set from Universal offers the entire Season Six run of EMERGENCY! its final season prior to a string of follow-up telemovies in 1978 with all of the episodes presented chronologically and back-to-back as they originally aired. This particular season featured guest turns by then-unknown actresses Linda Gray and Joanna Kerns fast on their way to television stardom.
