Television's BAT MASTERSON (1958-1961) was a dressed-up dandy in derby and cane. Gambler and lawman Bat Masterson (played by Gene Barry - WAR OF THE WORLDS) wanders the West charming women and defending the unjustly accused. His primary weapon was his wit (and cane) rather than his gun. As the well-respected sheriff of Dodge City, Kansas, the real Masterson earned himself a famous reputation as a lawman of the 1880's. He was present during the famous gunfight of the OK Corral with Wyatt Earp and the Clanton gang. Following his lawman days, Masterson turned professional gambler and travelling vigil ante. Mostly, Masterson travelled between Kansas and California, plying his trade, finding a game and a table, trusting lady luck, but all with great respect for the law. This tape features two complete episodes with prologue, monologue, theme song & full credits (no commercials): THE FIGHTER and STAMPEDE AT TENT CITY. Both episodes from a long -lost and bygone era of television broadcasting when the western ruled the small screen.
