Jazz Baby, Session 1 has nine singers and a pianist featured on a dozen songs aimed at children. The music is all newly recorded jazz (except for the vintage Rosemary Clooney selection), the emphasis is on melodies familiar to kids, and the interpretations are loving and friendly. Featured along the way are Janis Siegel, Claudia Acuña (in a version of "A-Tisket, A-Tasket" that is sure to be a collector's item), Jim Belushi, Freddy Cole, Cybill Shepherd, Kymberly Evans, Barbara Morrison, Sweet Baby J'ai, Clooney, and pianist Cengiz Yaltkaya. As with the best kids' recordings, this one (the first in a series) can easily be enjoyed by adults, too. Producer Lisa Beth Kovetz did a superior job in compiling a fine effort. ~ Scott Yanow

Formed in Anaheim, CA, No Doubt reached international success with their 1995 release Tragic Kingdom. That album, including the megahit "Don't Speak" among many others, has sold over 15 million copies worldwide.
