Launching Bandai's Armor Plus toy line of ultra-poseable action figures of anime characters with removable body armor, here's a top-quality figure of "Macross Frontier" superstar Alto Saotome, complete with his EX-Gear powered suit! According to the explanation on the package, the Extended Gear (EX-Gear) System "is a new piece of equipment that functions both as a cockpit and a lightweight powered suit during bail-out that is officially used by the VF-25 Series. It is equipped with a small jet engine and variable wings for flight." Based on its appearance in the final episode of the "Macross Frontier" anime, the production-type VF-27 Lucifer is offered as a sharply detailed snap-fit plastic kit! Fully transformable between its Fighter, Gerwalk, and Battroid modes, the Valkyrie can smoothly switch from any one of its three modes with the use of metal shafts in the wings and nose. The custom blue Valkyrie piloted by Michael in "Macross Frontier" receives the VF100's super-poseable action figure treatment, and also comes packed with Fold Speakers as seen used in episode 12 of the anime! Standing 16cm tall in Battroid mode, the robot is well-articulated at major joints to allow for dynamic poses. Switch it between its Gerwalk and Fighter modes by replacing some parts with the included fixed-pose parts. Thanks to the superb toy engineering and sculpting work that went into the development of this toy, its sharp form accurate to its designs for the show is maintained without sacrificing playability.
