The battery has to be soldered to the Ensoniq motherboard. You must first desolder the old battery, then solder the new one to the PCB. Your Ensoniq will most likely just stop working and appear to be dead. After it sits over-night, the battery will usually rebuilt enough of a charge to work for a short time. If this happens, your battery is on its last leg and needs to be replaced. I include installation instructions with the battery. Its a fairly simple task to replace the battery.
