 | Authorized Dealer (In-Stock) 2009 marks the 400th anniversary of the first minting of two of the most impressive coins in Spanish history: the silver 50 Reales coin, mostly known as Cincuent, and the gold 100 Escudos coins, also known as Cent, both minted at the Real Ingenio of Segovia. Like the Cincuentn, the Cent was minted during the dynastic period of the last monarchs of the House of Austria, namely Philip III, Philip IV and Charles II. It had a face value of 100 escudos, a diameter something in excess of 70 millimetres, and the established theoretical weight was 359.19 grams. It was utilized as a gift for high-ranking members of the European nobility. The pieces minted were therefore scant, and sometimes amounted to only a single piece per minting session. This Spain 2009 100 Euro Jewels of Numismatics 5 oz Silver Proof with Gold Plating Coin is an asset to any collection. | | SEE IT |

Then, by hand, the figures of each are highlighted and brought to life with rich, pure 24KT gold. This breathtaking work, done exclusively by J & J Jewelers, turns these coins into stunning and true works of art. Each coin is hermetically sealed against wear in clear, hard acrylic coating. It is then made into a unique tie or hat tack and placed in a nice jewelry box. This coin is the same size as a U.S. dime. Please Note: The gold and silver is much brighter and distinct than what the photograph shows. | | SEE IT |

They were the first coins struck in British North America, a mere generation after the establishment of the Massachusetts Bay Colony. Because of their historical importance and charming style, they have prompted rich inquiry among scholars and an intense interest and desire among collectors. The Silver Coins of Massachusetts is a splendidly illustrated review of these coins, employing the latest historical and numismatic evidence as well as novel scientific analysis. Minting technique is explored in detail. All varieties of the coinage are newly classified with a consistent yet flexible taxonomic system that lists the varieties in chronological order and can readily accommodate potential future discoveries. The system allows an appreciation for how varieties evolved and the relative degree of change that occurred at each step. It is designed to be as simple as possible without oversimplifying, with all varieties named according to their obverse and reverse dies. The book includes a fully illustrated atlas that details important characteristic features. The last part of the atlas displays each variety at actual size to aid in attribution. | | SEE IT |
