And while they never were able to translate it all into commercial success, they left quite an impression on the West Coast. After all, by the mid- to late '80s, the Sunset Strip was crawling with groups that attempted to look and sound like the Dolls. A case in point is Faster Pussycat. But during the group's peak, they never got around to issuing a live album. However, when singer Taime Downe decided to put together a whole new Faster Pussycat lineup circa the early 21st century, the time had finally come for the group's first official live set, 2009's Front Row for the Donkey Show. Interestingly, although Faster Pussycat's 2006 studio comeback, The Power and the Glory Hole, was a decidedly electro/industrial-based affair, this live set reflects more of the group's earlier direction. And an obvious reason for this is the presence of quite a few vintage Pussycat ditties, including "Cathouse, " "House | | SEE IT |

(In-Stock) Slade: Dave Hill , Don Powell , Jim Lea, Noddy Holder. The problem with Slade is, when they were good they were so very, very good that it becomes very difficult to pay much attention to the rest of their career. Of course the average fan will happily listen through their first two albums, cut in the years before "Get Down Get with It" finally catapulted Slade into the charts, and it's impossible for anybody to take exception to the four years of classic hits, dynamic album tracks and brilliant B-sides that followed. Drop in on Slade circa 1976, however, and listen through the music that sustained them across the next 15 years, and nobody would blame you if you didn't hang around too long. Which means, sadly, that anybody buying The Slade Box as any kind of substitute for the earlier albums (or a decent greatest-hits collection) is in for something of a disappointment. No complaints with the track listing, though. Across 84 tracks, Slade's entire catalog has been cherry-picked for precisely the right songs to | | SEE IT |

The record contained an uplifting pop/rock vibe that was consistent with their first two efforts. They continued to write songs in the vein of '80s pop bands like Mike & the Mechanics and Genesis, and their lyrics continued to center around the vaguely spiritual themes explored in their hit singles "Broken Wings" and "Kyrie." The only significant change was in record sales. Go On produced one moderately successful single, "Something Real (Inside Me/Inside You), " which lacked the killer hook of their previous hits, though it did include some compelling experiments with exotic keyboard sounds. The greatest strength of the record is its lyrical substance. Songwriters Richard Page, Steve George, Steve Farris, and John Lang are not the most skilled wordsmiths in pop music, but they find some laudable ways to express their favorite themes. "Man of a Thousand Dances" is written from the perspective of a man who is doggedly haunted by a presence th | | SEE IT |
