The word Favrile, derived from the Latin word Fabrillis, meaning made by hand, was named for Louis Comport Tiffany's irridescent glasswork. Infused with a series of fumes and metallic oxides, this delicate glass glowed with exciting irridescence in a mirad of colors.Today, Dale Tiffany is proud to re-introduce "Favrile" glass.
