Highly detailed 1/32 scale model kit of the Messerschmitt Me262 Schwalbe ("Swallow"), a World War II era twin-engine jet fighter aircraft of the German Luftwaffe, and the first operational jet fighter of the world. Fitted with two Jumo 004 turbojet engine, the Me262 was capable of speeds exceeding 500mph, making the venerable German jet a nearly impossible target for Allied fighter-aircrafts of the era. Even with its amazing speed, the Me262 had negligible impact on the course of World War II due to its late introduction and the inability of the Germans to mass produce the aircraft. By the end of World War II, the Me262 of all variants claimed only 509 Allied aircrafts destroyed while losing more than 100 aircrafts during combat operations.
