21-year-old amateur surfer, Samantha Dane, is about to get her big break when she earns a spot in the coveted U.S. Open of Surfing. But three days before the competition, Sam wrecks both her knees in a freak restaurant slip-and-fall accident, leaving her with devastating injuries and completely destroying any chance of competing in the U.S. Open - or possibly ever surfing again.
